The 5,000m2 building which houses the Waste Reception area, processing equipment and storage bays will process 120,000 tonnes of waste when opened in April 2017, following completion of hot commissioning which is currently being carried out

 

The facility also includes an extensive fire detection system including flame detection and suppression systems comprising of deluge systems and sprinklers, served from a 1,200,000 litre sprinkler tank, covering the entire Waste Process plant area & Sprinkler Pumphouse and gas suppression systems covering the Stadler Control & MCC rooms and the Main Switchroom.

 

The facility was been developed and designed by a team including WDR & RT Taggart, Caldwell Consulting and Lagan Construction Group Limited.

 

The waste processing equipment forms a significant component of the facility and was designed and installed by German firm, Stadler Engineering.
