New Hospital Main Switchboard
Caldwell have successfully designed and managed the replacement of the existing main switchboard in the Mater Hospital Dempsey building. At one time this was the main switchboard for the entire hospital facility and served further remote buildings around the Dempsey building. The technically challenging project involved the full phased replacement of the existing main switchboard while the hospital remained fully operational. The board was changed out in essential and non essential services phases and at no time was any part of the operational facility without power for longer than a three hour period. To further complicate the project the first phase involved the relocation of the operating theatres N+1 parallel UPS systems to make room for the new switchboard. Through strict project planning, clear and concise installation management protocols and working in direct and intricate liaison with the hospitals operational management team the project was deemed a great success.
