The Omagh Community Fire Station and District HQ was officially opened today. The guests heard speeches by District Commander Eamon McGrath, Minister Poots MLA, Mr Alan Hanna, Vice Chairman NIFRS Board, Chief Fire Officer Chris Kerr and Area Commander Trevor Ferguson.  Caldwell are proud to be MEP engineers and BREEAM assessors for this cutting edge next generation of NIFRS facilities. Sustainability was at the forefront of the design and construction achieving a EPC rating of A and BREEAM Excellent.  Solutions include mix of Biomass and LPG boilers, highly insulated envelope, enhanced daylight, low energy lighting, extensive metering and BMS control.  The facility also included a fully functional workshop for vehicle repair, district headquarters offices, community facilities, firefighters facilities and 6 unit appliance bay. Following the display the firefighters gave a display of firefighting skills including high volume pumps, rescue from the training tower, animal rescue and vehicle rescue.
